Panadol is probably the most commonly prescribed medication world wide. In most countries, it can be bought over the counter without a prescription. It is safe if used correctly. It has minimal side-effects. It has a strong pain relief effect. Although it is so popular, the mechanism of action (how it works) is still unknown. It is safe within its therapeutic range. Overdosing on panadol will inevitably result in liver failure. It is a painful and slow death which could drag on for months. People who try to kill themselves with panadols will often end up on the liver transplant list.
